🎶 It All Started in a Backyard...
In 2014, a few friends with cameras and a love for live music began filming acoustic sets in a backyard off the beaten path in downtown Bonita Springs. Inspired by iconic formats like MTV Unplugged and NPR Tiny Desk, they launched Sugarshack Sessions as a YouTube channel to showcase raw, soulful performances from local and regional artists.
There was no charge. No business model. Just a pure passion for music and a desire to capture it authentically—palm trees swaying, string lights glowing, and good energy all around.
🚀 From Local Idea to Global Stage
What started quietly soon caught fire. First across Florida. Then across the country. Then around the world.
As the audience grew organically, so did the dream. In 2018, after four years of filming late nights and weekends while holding down full-time jobs, the Sugarshack crew took the leap and made the project their full-time mission.
